Insufficient indoor ventilation may cause a higher risk of spreading virus. According to American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), increasing to ACH at 6 or above is an effective engineering control to reduce the relative risk of exposure to virus by 95%. The government has launched the Time-limited Programme on Enhancing Infection Control and Ventilation of Residential Care Homes to help residential care homes for the elderly and residential care homes for persons with disabilities to conduct on-site ventilation assessments and make recommendations on ventilation improvement with a view to minimizing the risks of virus spreading in residential care homes.
